Biography
Professor Yohanna Gyang Jugu is a professor of Forensic Accounting and Audit, and was elected and became Dean of the Faculty in March, 2025. Besides forensic accounting and audit, Jugu also specializes in financial accounting, management accounting and taxation. Jugu obtained his Ph.D from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka – Nigeria in the year 2013. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA) and a Certified Forensic Accountant (CFA) of the same Institute. He is also a Fellow Chartered and Certified Forensic Accountant (FCCrFA) of the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria. He has acquired vast working experience in the area of accounting practices and accounting academic, from private organisations, in the first instance, and then from both State and Federal public services. As an academic staff of the University of Jos, he has been saddled with many administrative responsibilities besides his regular duties of teaching, research and community service.
Jugu, has served as a visiting lecturer and external examiner to many private and public universities.
Some of the courses he has taught since he became an academic staff include: Principles
of Accounting, Principles of Finance, Introduction to Actuarial Science, Principles of Taxation,
Research Methodology, Forensic Accounting & Investigation. Others are Advanced Corporate
Finance, Advanced Portfolio Theory, and Seminar among others. There is no doubt that Jugu is a
season academic, with more than 20 years of teaching, research and community service experience.
He has served as a resource person and discussant in many workshops and seminars. He has more
than 50 publications in circulation to his credit and has attended many international academic and
professional conferences, besides serving as a reviewer to many local and international journals.
Professor Jugu is happily married with four children.
